About
Plaintext helps businesses solve operational and technical problems with practical software, automation, AI adoption, and support after launch. We work alongside customers to design, build, and run systems that fit how their business actually operates.
How we work
Most software projects get expensive when everyone pretends the answer is known upfront. We start with a concrete problem, build the smallest useful version, put it in front of the people who will use it, and keep adjusting until it fits the business.
Stage 01
We map the workflow, the people involved, the systems in play, and the first outcome worth solving.
Stage 02
Every 2 weeks you see working software. Your team tests it against real work, then we keep, change, or drop based on what proves useful.
Stage 03
Once the direction is proven, we stop moving the target and prepare for launch: reliability, permissions, data migration, training, and go-live.
Stage 04
We support what we build, improve it as the business changes, and stay available when something needs attention. If you want to bring it in-house, the code is yours.
Our principles
We start with the workflow, not a wish list. The system should match the way your team works, remove the friction that matters, and stay small enough that people can actually use it.
Our customers trust our software to run important parts of their business, and we take that responsibility seriously. Our team comes from a reliability engineering background, running critical services for government and industry. When work needs to get out at 6:30pm on a Friday, the system should hold up.
We avoid the vendor trap where the more a business depends on software, the more painful it becomes to change or leave. Our pricing is upfront and transparent, and we will not pull the rug out from under you.
We build with you, and the code can come with you. If you want to keep working with us, we will support and extend it. If you want to take it in-house or somewhere else, we will not stand in your way.
